Since 1999, we have sent 368 volunteer hands (that's 185 volunteers) into Honduras (and another 11 to Bahamas in 2007) equipped with the mission to help people in Honduras to improve the quality of their lives through construction and education. Numerous homes in the villages of Culuco and Maguelar now have new chimneys, fresh concrete floors, and working latrines. We have also taken the village of Culuco from a one-room schoolhouse town to a town that has a multi-roomed Elementary school and a multi-roomed Middle school. For three full three years, we fully supported the teacher salaries at the elementary school where 7 teachers are currently employed. In 2003, we first sent a group of 9 American teachers to Culuco to train these Honduran teachers on new teaching techniques, currently conducted annually.  h2H has also transported thousands of dollars of donated school supplies from our United Methodist family in the states to Honduras for the schools. Many children in Central America don’t go to school, simply because they don’t have the necessary supplies.

And now, the tradition of mission continues as we continue our relationship with the Algalta Valley through the work at Rancho El Paraiso in 2008.  For more information, click here.
